A Geocaching We Will Go...

Sunday was a day of rest from practice so we headed out the dirt roads around Mesquite so Don could gather some geocaches.  First we stopped by the cute little community of Scenic and then drove the back roads. Among the 13 found, many were very interesting, unique and creative caches hidden by one guy.  This made the day even more fun.  Some of them are the featured photos of the day, along with some flowers and general scenery shots.  Then we took a site-seeing ride along the bluff highway and took in the sites of the Mesquite Regional Park, which included a stunning sports complex (soccer) and a highway, with bike paths and hiking trails, all paid for by Federal Money, obtained by Senator Harry Reed of Nevada.   Perhaps millions of dollars - similar to the dreaded  “bridge to nowhere” boondoggle... and this area is hardly used!!!

I don't know, but the "bush" was 10' high

The geocache clue "7-10"

How about a 7-10 split...

Hiding place...

Getting that truck dirty!!!!

Another "peak"

Geocache called "sew".

Space capsule

hidden in a "desert dry docked" boat.

I did my job photographing other interesting sites...
a downed barrel fishhook cactus.

The remains of this cactus reminded me of a ghost image
with a beard, left,  and a

tall skinny bearded walrus as a neighbor.

A unique container for yet another cache.

This giant sized "halloween cat"

watches as Don finds one more geocache.

Our trip thru the Mesquite Regional Park

boggles the mind.

A sample section of the highway (notice the traffic) with a
full bike, walking path along the right side.  Oh well...

Later, the evening hours presented us with a beautiful
site and 25 mph winds.
