A Few Days to Practice

Don practiced geocaching in the Mesquite area after he dropped me off at the beautiful Mesquite Del Webb community where I met my pickleball partner Janice Rameriz.  We played for a couple of hours, on their scenic courts, and then drove the 35 minutes to St George UT to register for the “games”.  We had fun shopping the vendor area, bought a couple of pickleball and hiking shirts and also had time to watch the 50-54 year old women’s volleyball.  Makes one feel old when you’re reminded of what you might have been like at that age, the age now of my son and daughter.

The next day Don and I did a “dry run” to Sun River where all my tournament games were to be played.  The 12 mile portion through the "Canyon" (as the locals call it)...to St George was fabulous.  And it's a 3-state drive.  We temporarily reside here in Mesquite NV, drove  through about 12 or 13 miles of the very NW corner of AZ and then crossed the border into UT as we headed for St George, a very beautiful community.

Check out the view behind Janice...  Hard to concentrate
on the game.

Mid-day, thru the Canyon

This makes a couple of "rookies" feel GOOD!!!

And as Rookies, this will be a close as we get to one of these!!!

It may be a different story for these 50-54 age group "women"!!!

Proof that I was really a "senior"

Where I'll spend 3 of the next 4 days...
