The Way to San Jose (part 1-March 16)

This year's journey from AZ home included a side trip to San Jose to see how brother Roy was doing after his massive heart attack in January.  Along the way we enjoyed the wildflowers on 1-17 north and  Hwy 74 west to Wickenburg where we quickly toured the town, enjoyed a few local sites and a couple of vintage cars before having lunch at Annita’s, our favorite Mexican Restaurant.  Then we continued on to Kingman for our first nights stop.   Don purchased a “round” of new tires for the pickup while I did the laundry!!!  Not too exciting, but pretty (and uneventful - except for excessive noise) along the way...

Ocotillo leafing out amongst the lupines...

And Hwy 74 was just as pretty.

The Community Center in Wickenburg has ample parking
for all 53 feet!!!

Everett Bowman was a "man's Man"...

Loved the creative signs...
this one's for the Mosaic gals in AZ

This one's for our daughter who was very
tall growing up...Kristine Bean.
We often call her Frijole even now!!!

Don owned one of these - a 1968
(not a convertible-not red)
but it brought a tear to his eye...

I was a "Chevy Girl" myself!!!

Beautiful scenery all the way to Kingman AZ

  1. We will have to spend some time in Wickenburg our next trip through. I'm sure there's a geocache there! I too, like that area of boulders on 74; an interesting oddity.
